The writings of the Huang di neijing provide detailed theories and practices for dealing with infectious diseases and epidemic and pandemic diseases. These ideas are based on an ecological model of disease in which alterations of patients’ circulatory ecology setup the conditions necessary for epidemics to occur and maintain the clinical expressions of illness. In this discussion, we will be reviewing the basic Neijing theories of epidemic and pandemic diseases with particular reference to the current Covid-19 situation.
